The Pleasant Valley West
Community Website

Thanks to the efforts and direct encouragement of homeowners and land owners alike, the neighbors of Pleasant Valley West have established this community website and an accompanying Facebook Page for the benefit of all in this wonderful community.

Fifty years ago, Pleasant Valley West was formed and alternatively known as Pocono Pleasant Valley West.  In 1976, a club was formed known as Pleasant Valley West Club, which operates subject to the Non-profit Corporation Law of 1972.  However, MOST of the properties in the community are NOT required be members of the HOA, meaning they need not pay club dues or be subject to their rules, regulations, fees, or oversight.    All owners, however, are required to pay a pro-rated share of road and recreation area maintenance, which is slightly less than the cost of membership dues, and covers the cost of both the roads and the lake.

Dues for HOA club members is currently $300 per year.  Each deed outlines whether the property owner is required to be a member of the HOA.  If it doesn't specifically indicate that joining an Association or HOA is required, then owners are NOT required to be a member, but they may opt to join the club for whatever social benefits they offer.  In doing so, however, you will then be subject to any rules they have in place, which may include limitations in how you use your property.

The truth is that Pleasant Valley West is a community not defined by a charter or covenants, but rather by the people who make up the community itself - those that have a personal and financial interest here and are part of the neighborhood we all share.   So this site, and its' accompanying Facebook page, are simply to promote the community as it should be  - a community of neighbors, families, friends, and extended families - not just primary home owners or vacation home owners or lot owners.  And while we're all investors in the neighborhood we love, we're all neighbors first and foremost.  Neighbors that are kind, respectful, trustworthy and... well, neighborly - just like the neighborhoods we all grew up in.  And in a neighborhood like ours, nothing matters more.

And since we believe families really matter, community members will be welcome to invite their family members to join PleasantValleyWest.com as an extended part of the Pleasant Valley West community and keep up with what's happening in the area and discover for themselves just how truly wonderful this area is.

Enjoy the website as a member of the community or, if you're an owner, you can get exclusive membership access to our Pleasant Valley West Community Facebook Page.

It's free and all deeded property owners are welcome.   Both here and one the FB page we don't limit access to information, recommendations, or services for owners.

The site is still growing, but you'll find a world of helpful information about the community, the township, and activities and events throughout the area.    More and more will be added as time goes by.  You'll see a lot of added benefits in 2025.

You'll learn things about the Poconos you never knew, and discover knew places to go, things to do, and must see sites for adults and kids of all ages.

You will also see what businesses and services your neighbors use and recommend, and the service providers who live right here that can help keep your home happy, healthy and safe.

You will see and be able to post events and notices, and we'll even have a live weather feed and road cam showing general road conditions. And since the amazing wildlife is such an intrinsic part of life here, we'll have a hidden live wildlife cam for everyone to enjoy.

Through the site and
Facebook page you'll be able to request help from neighbors, such as a security check, a wifi camera reset, or to get help receiving or signing for a package. Maybe you want someone to check on your place after a power outage or a storm; You can do that here. And you'll be able to suggest a security check or a meal drop for someone who is alone or struggling.

You will also be able to list items for free and for sale, including your car and your home.  Neighbors and their families are often the fastest, easiest market when you're trying to sell something.  You can get notified right in your inbox, if you choose.

You'll even be able to request a big, strong volunteer to help move furniture, or someone to get rid of recyclable metal scraps, walk your dog or shovel your walkway.

You can even post that you need a ride to the repair shop to pick up your vehicle.  Neighbors helping neighbors will be one key focus of this new page.

Need a mechanic, a painter, a tech guru, a plumber, a chiropractor, a realtor or a tree service?  Find out who lives right around the corner that can help.

And we'll be open to your family as well, so the kids or your Nan can follow what's happening in the neighborhood.

There's lots more coming and lots more planned, so we suggest you stay tuned and join our Facebook page to gain access to a whole new neighborhood.
